POLARITY & SHROOMBAB – STRONGHOLD/ROLLING THUNDER Released in May/June 2002, Distributed via Triple Vision & Vinyl UK

Press Reviews

This first release from DJ Shroombab’s new High Tension Recordings imprint sees her team up with Polarity to christen the label with two mean tech-step- rollers. “Stronghold” is a nasty bit of works, with harsh, murderous FX accompaning the heavy bassline to perfection. It has to be “rolling Thunder” though, that truly did it for me, with the rhythmic techy stabs spending no time in hanging around, with the pounding bassline giving it instant appeal to the floor. The edgy effects add more dimension to the track, bringing that darkside vibe into action right from the start. On the strength of this release alone you can tell that High Tension Recordings is a label with high prospects. If you’re into your dark-tech-orientated music, the sounds of Polarity & Shroombab aer yours. All Good. (REVIEW by Funx – JUNGLERAVERS.COM / LIVEANDDIRECT)

Flagship release distributed exclusively through Triple Vision in Rotterdam, this 12" is sure to cause some dancefloor damage. "Stronghold" steps up with dominating b-lines weaving a melodic pattern over strong breaks. "Rolling Thunder" is a supersonic groover with a bongo-based riff, stabbing keys and pulsating bass. (REVIEW by Sharee - JUNGLEVOODOO.COM and KNOWLEDGE MAGAZINE)

Gutes Debut. bleed **** (REVIEW by Bleed – DE:BUG)
